ESK Alumni Recognized at Knoxville Catholic Honors Ceremony
Nearly 20 graduates from The Episcopal School of Knoxville were recognized for academic excellence at Knoxville Catholic High School’s Honor Ceremony held Monday morning in the gym.
KCHS senior Ian Greeley (’12) led the way being named a Knoxville News Sentinel Academic Achiever. This award is given annually to the top five graduating seniors at Knoxville Catholic. He also received a National Merit Award for PSAT National Finalist and the Senior Science Award.
Fellow senior Amelia Adkins (’12) and freshman Lindsey Webb (’15) were both awarded the President’s Volunteer Service award. Adkins earned bronze level while Webb earned gold level.
Members of the ESK Class of 2013, KCHS juniors Madison Howell and Nick Lovely were inducted into the school’s chapter of The National Honor Society. This year’s induction ceremony took place Sunday afternoon.
Scholar athlete awards were given to Greeley, Eva James (’12), Ansley Turley (’14), Blair Turley (’14), Alex Carter (’14), Caroline Gheen (’15) and Alden Haun (’15). These students must earn an unweighted GPA of 3.75 or higher.
James also earned the Tennessee High School Press Association award for Best Illustration in the cartoon category. She received third-place recognition.
The trio of Haun, Greeley and Lauren Hager (’12) were named to the President’s List. To earn a spot on the list, students must achieve three quarters with an unweighted GPA of 4.0.
