Teachers We Love: Elizabeth Leinart
Today, ESK would like to welcome Elizabeth Leinart to our community! She is a veteran fourth grade teacher who is looking forward to joining us on the hill for the 2018-2019 school year. Find out why she loved her fifth grade teacher, and what she is most looking forward to as a new faculty member at ESK!
Q&A with Elizabeth Leinart
Can you tell us about your favorite summer memory?
Ms. Leinart: When I was young, during the summers my younger brother and I would play for hours in the backyard. It was very wooded, so we spent a lot of time tramping around under the trees and swinging on grape vines. We especially liked to play “restaurant.” We would make “lemonade” out of dandelions and water, and “vegetable soup” out of wild orange mushrooms and other plants mixed with water. Being outside was the best!
I like your creativity, but I’m not sure if I’d be willing to patronize your lemonade stand!
As a fourth grade teacher, I bet you have a million recommendations to get reluctant readers and book lovers hooked on an engrossing new story. What would you say is your favorite book?
Ms. Leinart: Harry Potter series – I love the idea of going to a school for wizards, especially when you didn’t even know you were one!
We love Harry Potter, too! Can you remember your favorite teacher?
Ms. Leinart: Mr. Shockley, my fifth grade teacher, was a lively little man who made learning fun. When we drew names for Christmas, he joined in and I still have the little red watch he gave me.
As a new faculty member, what are you most looking forward to about teaching at ESK?
Ms. Leinart: Like Mrs. Stivers, I am excited about the chance to do outdoor activities with my class! I love to garden and be outside. The chicken coop is awesome!
Welcome to ESK! We know you’ll love it here and we can’t wait to see your instructional expertise in practice!
