Hoops4Hope Raises Over $2,000 for Project Walk Atlanta

The Hoops4Hope 3-on-3 charity basketball tournament held at The Episcopal School of Knoxville on Saturday morning raised over $2,000 in support of alum and current Knoxville Catholic student Sarah Perez and her current therapy at Project Walk Atlanta.

ESK eighth graders Ben Lovely, Saad Mohammad, Mason Stivers and Chris Daley facilitated the tournament to satisfy the community service component of their Portfolio Projects. Students from more than seven area schools were in attendance, including Knoxville Catholic, Hardin Valley, Webb and Bearden.

Several faculty and staff volunteered their time to make this event run smoothly, including Chris Bishop, Cam Basden, Margaret Googe, David Spates, Cathy Stivers, Abby Pensky, Susan Lancaster, Father Josh, Brett Tannhauser, Mary Walker, Tom Jones and Erika Letsinger. ESK looks to make this an annual event.

All proceeds from team registration fees, concessions and any donations will be donated to Project Walk Atlanta, which is an organization dedicated to rehabilitation of spinal cord injuries.
